Events & Competitions
Vocal Competition · Annual · Ages 13–Adult
American Traditions Vocal Competition
One of Savannah's most prestigious vocal events — a professional competition offering $40,000 in cash prizes for adult vocalists performing classic American song. For younger performers the Junior ATC program serves 8th through 12th graders and is a serious, competitive experience for trained vocalists ready to perform at a high level. The festival also brings competition artists back to Savannah for concerts, making it a great event to attend even if you're not competing.
Fundraiser · Performance · Annual
Brave the Stage
An annual fundraiser run by Savannah Stage Company that doubles as a performance opportunity. Participants commit to raising a set amount — supporting the pay-what-you-can scholarship fund that makes Savannah Stage's programming accessible to everyone — and in return receive six coaching sessions that culminate in a live performance. Open to anyone interested in getting on stage while giving back to the community.
Talent Competition · Audition Based · Annual
Savannah's Got Talent
An audition-based talent competition and fundraiser run by Savannah Theatre — with serious bragging rights attached. The 2024 winner is now performing on Broadway. Cash prizes, all ages welcome, and audition details get posted on Savannah Theatre's Instagram. One of the most exciting annual events on the Savannah performing arts calendar.
Musical Theater · Festival · Industry event
Savannah Musical Theater Festival
A three-day celebration of brand new, never-before-produced musicals hosted by Savannah Repertory Theater. Writers and composers can submit their work to be selected for concert-style readings with live music and minimal staging, performed in front of audiences and industry professionals. More of an audience and industry event than a performer opportunity — but worth attending for anyone serious about musical theater.

Film Opportunities
Film · Student Projects · Savannah
SCAD Student Films
One of the best kept secrets for Savannah performers. SCAD film students cast local talent for their projects throughout the year — most actively in winter and spring. The Savannah Actors Facebook group is one of the best places to find casting calls, along with Backstage and good old fashioned word of mouth. Projects are rarely paid but the on-set experience is invaluable — a strong résumé and open weekends are your best assets. Getting cast on one SCAD film tends to lead to others.
